HXP lamps are short arc lamps in which the discharge arc burns in an atmosphere of mercury vapor at very high pressure. They use the halogen cycle and are designed exclusively to run in CA.
Their main advantages and features are:
- Very high luminous efficiency
- Mercury spectrum with a high proportion of the continuum spectrum due to high operating pressure
- Color temperature of approximately 9500 K
- Elliptical reflector for focusing the light effective
- Reflector with interference layers for reflection and selective removal of IR
- Long life
- Operation with AC square wave current
Security:
Because of their high light of their strong UV radiation and their high internal pressure during use, HXP lamps can only operate in closed housings specially constructed for this purpose. In case of breakage, the lamp emits mercury. Security measures must be taken. Further information can be provided on request or can be found in the prospectus included with the lamps or in the instructions.
